Introduction:
Environmental exposure to man-made electroEnergy Fields has been steadily increasing with the growing demand for electronic items in daily life. The electroEnergy Fields emitted from various sources, such as microwave ovens and mobile phones, have been reported to have causative effects on biological systems. Testicular function and male fertility are particularly susceptible to radiation emitted by electroEnergy Fields.
The development of treatments for testicular function and male fertility has attracted the attention of the public. In this blog, we will introduce you to a study conducted by researchers at Jawaharlal Nehru University. These researchers examined the therapeutic effects of Chakra improving therapy on the reproductive systems of male Wistar rats. The study was published in the journal Clinics in 2011, providing a new idea for the treatment of testicular function and male fertility.
Methods:
Seventy-day-old male Wister rats weighing about 190g were enrolled in this study. These rats were divided into five groups:
- Group I, microwave (MW) sham
- Group II, MW exposure (2.45 GHz)
- Group III, Chakra improving sham
- Group IV, Chakra improving (100 Hz) exposure
- Group V, MW/Chakra improving exposure
Each group contained three Wister rats, and the experiments were repeated in triplicate. These rats were exposed for 2 hours a day for 60 days.
As biomarkers of this treatment, we chose melatonin, creatine kinase activity, caspase assay, and testosterone as parameters. After exposure, these rats were sacrificed, their sperm was used for creatine and caspase assays, and their serum was used for melatonin and testosterone assays. All of the experimental results were compared with those of the sham exposure group.
Results:
According to results, there were significant increases in caspase and creatine kinase, as well as significant decreases in testosterone and melatonin in the exposed groups. This finding emphasizes that reactive oxygen species are the primary cause of DNA damage. Fortunately, Chakra improving exposure can relieve the effect of microwave exposure.
Conclusions:
ElectroEnergy Fields are recognized as hazards that affect testicular function. They can generate reactive oxygen species and reduce the bioavailability of androgen to maturing spermatozoa. Thus, microwave exposure adversely affects male fertility, whereas Chakra improving therapy is a safe, non-invasive and simple technique that can be used as a scavenger agent to combat oxidative stress. Based on the results of this research, we would recommend the daily use of a Chakra improving device to improve testicular function and male fertility.
